Are there veterans you know and admire who live in the 3rd District?  Would you like to see them recognized by their community for their service and sacrifice to our Great Nation?  Then I encourage you to consider nominating them for the Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) award!    

As you likely know, North Texas is a proudly patriotic community. It's no surprise that our area is home to many men and women who have donned the uniform in defense of Freedom. Many of these patriots are so dedicated to serving others that when they retire from active duty, they continue to serve their community in a variety of ways. 

That is why, to honor these exceptional hometown heroes, I established the annual CVC award and ceremony.  This program provides an opportunity for our community to thoughtfully thank our veterans for their wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement.  By sharing these veterans' stories, the event also works to inspire future generations to begin building a legacy of service.  

I encourage all Collin County constituents to consider the veterans they know for nomination: their family members, friends, neighbors, and work colleagues.  Anyone may nominate a veteran, and they may nominate as many veterans as they like. 

Nominations close on Thursday, July 27th, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

Please also know that, due to the fact this is my last term in office, this will also be the last chance to nominate someone for a Congressional Veterans Commendation award.
