What Do I Do with my Open/Pending Casework?

As my announcement at the top of this page mentioned, my staff is winding down various constituent services, and the deadline for casework is August 31st, 2018. This closure is necessary in order to ensure that you receive casework assistance without disruption.

If you currently have an open case, please know that while it is possible to receive additional correspondence on your specific case prior to the deadline, it is not guaranteed due to processing times with the appropriate federal agency.  Therefore, in order to ensure you receive casework assistance without disruption, my staff and I recommend that you contact either Senator John Cornyn’s or Senator Ted Cruz’s office and initiate your casework there.  The information for both U.S. Senators is further below. (If you prefer, you may also wait until the next Third District Representative is sworn into office to initiate casework with the new member.)

Please also be aware that if you would like to pick up your existing casework file(s) from my office, you will need to contact my staff at (469) 304-0382 or email at
SamJohnsonCasework@mail.house.gov no later than Wednesday, September 12th, 2018.  My staff will then arrange a time for you to pick up your file(s).  If my staff does not hear from you, we will assume that you do not wish to pick up your open casework file(s). Accordingly, any non-retrieved file(s) will be shredded on Friday, September 21st, 2018.
